INTRODUCTION

As a new D&D DM, I'm still learning all the rules, and wanted a much faster way of referencing the rules.

So I thought "Why not make an app that does it?".

This is a very simple app made in Godot that just reads from a JSON file and writes back to it, and you can edit the JSON file in a text editor if you want.

Best part is you don't have to use it for D&D, you can use it for anything you want.

This application is (C) Copyright 2020 Max Damage.  You can use it as you like!

This version does not contain the JSON file.  dndatabase will create a new JSON file when you Add your first new rule.

If packaged with the D&D5E JSON, then this is important:
The original rules are interpreted from the freely available game rules provided in the SRD document by Wizards of the Coast available at:

USAGE

To Search For Rules:

• Enter the search terms.  It searches automatically as you type, and searches by matching characters, so "ara" will match "characters", but not "array".
• By default it searches the name of the rule.  You can toggle this to search the ruling instead using the toggle button.  It will perform the search automatically when clicked.
• Search results are shown on the left.  Click on it to show the ruling on the right.

To Add New Rules:

• Enter the Rule Name, and the Ruling, and click Add.
• This saves it immediately.
• This does not perform a search, it just adds a new rule.

Don't forget you can edit the JSON file directly if you want to tweak a rule or delete some.  if you do this while the app is open, hit Reload to load the changes.

Unfortunately the executable is large, I am looking into reducing it, or just remaking this not in Godot.
